Setting Up Ask Meetings: Individual Donors

 
Last week we talked about making that initial call to an individual to engage them in your mission for, hopefully, an eventual gift or solicitation. This week we focus on corporate or foundation donors and how to ask them if your project fits their guidelines for a potential grant.
 

That dreaded first phone call to engage a donor. I'm sure many put that off as long as possible. How should you approach that first call to start off a relationship on the right foot?
