New Board Chair Retreat

Board chairs set the culture of the board, take the lead in recruiting new board members, help develop the board agenda, lead the discussions around the board table, resolve any issues that arise within the board, and frequently serve as the main conduit between the board and staff. Yet, few board members receive any kind of training to assume this role. Meet with other new board chairs to learn ways to build an effective board from the beginning to assure your tenure becomes one they talk about for years to come … for all the right reasons.
