Stephen Hippler, MD retired from his position of Chief Clinical Officer for OSF Healthcare in Peoria. In that role, he served as the leader of OSF Multi-specialty Services with responsibility for all ambulatory services, the OSF Medical Group and Service Lines, and employed providers within OSF HealthCare.

Steve started with OSF in 1988, when he joined the Medical Staff at OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center. Since then, he has held several leadership roles throughout his career with OSF.

Steve earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of medicine at UICOMP where he has led 60 clinical trials as Principal Investigator and co-author on 6 peer reviewed articles and book chapter.

In his retirement he remains active in research dealing with fortitude and physician burnout.
