NAMI Greater Mississippi Valley

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of the Greater Mississippi Valley offers nationally-recognized, peer reviewed mental health education and advocacy to provide help and hope to people living with a mental health condition and the people who love them. While many mental health providers in the community do great work helping people with a mental health condition, few if any help their loved ones understand the condition and how they can provide support. NAMI does.

Local education and support programs – using nationally developed and recognized curriculum – complement the work of health care professionals, social workers, and school counselors. NAMI fills the information gap between individuals, families, and healthcare providers, promoting understanding and support with topics like mental health awareness, mental health tools, signs of mental illness, getting a diagnosis, early detection, treatment options, and social emotional learning.

Among other services, Wastyn & Associates spent the better part of 2022 providing fund development coaching to NAMI staff to help them maximize their efforts to raise money. As part of that work, we helped them write annual fund letters that raised more money from their constituents – and continue to raise more money to help support Quad Citizens living with mental health conditions.

"Linda's comprehensive consulting services helped us with a number of initiatives, including strategic planning, board education, and development planning and coaching. Her experience, wisdom, warmth and accessibility made her an excellent strategic partner in establishing a strong foundation for future success. As a new development director, I especially appreciated that I could call her with questions or for timely editing assistance on appeals." - Lori Leipold, Development Director, NAMI Greater Mississippi Valley
