Hoover Presidential Foundation

The Hoover Presidential Foundation promotes and supports the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum, National Historic Site, and other programs that enhance the understanding of Herbert Hoover as president and humanitarian. Located in West Branch, Iowa, they serve as the foremost authorities and collectors of documents and information on the life of President and Mrs. Hoover. Constructed nearly 60 years ago as one of the first presidential libraries, the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum’s extensive archives, displayed artifacts, and thought-provoking programs help tell the Hoover story across the state, country, and world.

Much maligned for the misfortune of occupying the Oval Office during the Great Depression, Hoover contributed so much more to this country and the world. He exemplified his core beliefs and values of ambition, cooperation, and service from his time in China delivering food and medical supplies during the Boxer Rebellion, to his work returning 120,000 Americans safely home using his own personal funds amid the Great War. He also demonstrated his leadership skills in forming the largest relief organization the world had yet known to feed millions of starving Belgian and French citizens.

As one of only three presidential libraries located in a national park, the uniqueness of the Hoover campus and the ability to visit Mr. Hoover’s birthplace and gravesite in addition to learning about his life and impact draw visitors from around the world.

Wastyn & Associates has collaborated with the staff of the Hoover Presidential Foundation over the past five years to write and submit grants that have raised nearly $6.4 million to date to support their mission and important work. Most recently, they received a $5 million grant from Destination Iowa toward their planned $20 million renovation project of the museum space, slated to open in time for the 150th Anniversary of President Hoover's birth in August 2024.

Initiating and working through strategic planning and implementing a grant development processes were formidable but essential components for our organization’s direction.  There are plenty of consultants out there, but Linda and Wastyn & Associates helped make it happen comprehensively and effectively. They have empowered our board and our staff to continue to move forward confidently – and successfully – in these areas to better accomplish our mission. Their guidance has helped focus our efforts in both areas stay on track as we look to the future.
