Amy Kolker comes to us after a 25-year career in higher education where she served as a professor of English, department chair, and faculty senate president. Originally from downstate Illinois, she and her husband Alex became Quad Cities residents in 1999.

Amy is passionate about education, the arts, mental health, and, especially, the needs of children. For her, these concerns lie at the heart of building a strong, vibrant, healthy community, and she is excited to help promote them in her new role as Grant Specialist. When she isn’t at work, she spends time trying to pry her two teenagers away from their video games. When that doesn't work, she and her husband enjoy dining out and going to the theater and the symphony (okay, that one’s Amy).
